Problems with KD-55X8509cbu since 02/02/2016 udate

Hi everyone,

I purchased KD-55X8509c TV in December. Everything was going great but since doing the lastest update 02/02/2016 I have had some problems.

Main Remote control has become very temperamental, not always working which means i have to revert to using the one flick remote control to power off the tv then tv comes back on after a moment the main remote starts working again.

Overnight we always make sure the TV is switch off and unplugged and before the recent update after plugging in you had to use the remote control to put it on to standby and then it would got to home page first..

Since update after pluggling in the tv goes straight to standby and then to last tv channel viewed bypassing the home page.

Has anyone else had this problem or know of a way to resolve it ?

Did you try a factory reset ? You then have to set everything up from the begining. Also the RMF-TX100E shall need pairing and adjustments.

Yes I have done a Factory Reset and was surprsed that after erasing everything all i had to do was tune it and pair one touch remote.. Upon checking settings showed that all software up to date.

I had thought that doing a factory reset would have meant it would have reverted back to how it was when i took it out of the box but it didn't ? Time will tell if the reset has helped.

Is it software version you recently installed v3.169 ?

I don't know about your region but there is a possibility to download previous version v3.155 and install using the procedure of a USB stick.

If you are in UK region I think the files are different and you have to try and find the previous software. I think now it is FW v3179 and previous for UK was FW v2645 at :

DO NOT TRY out of your region software, you may damage you tv set.

Then use the procedure that Tarzion posted at:

after Sony instructions. It may work you..Seems that he did not manage to do so.

Hi,

To be honest I don't know what version was installed. I am in UK and only purchased the TV December 2015 so after initial installation the update on 02/02/16 was the first i had done.

Since doing the factory reset the remote control problem i had seems to be resolved so far.

I have however just noticed that since the update the option of the "Live Football Mode" feature is no longer available. I am not too bothered about this but curious to know if the cessation of this is due to the update or not ?
