Hi Sean

Thanks for the reply unfortunately it is still the same after a factory reset. I have also tried new batteries, I think the fault seems to be more with the remote. Do you have a link where I could buy a replacement I have had the tv almost two years now, and I expect its probably not covered by the warranty now.

Steve

I have the following Sony Bravia tv

KD-49XE8396

since 2017 and recently after an android software update the remote seems to act a lot differently than before. It is not the battery’s I have changed them but some times it doesn’t react when I press it then it takes the volume up very high or low very annoying will this be fixed in a later software update or do I need a new remote?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Royabrown2,

Apologies! I think I've missed that part. I'd say do a remote control camera test then as suggested by rooobb to know if that's the remote or the software of the TV.

The steps are available here: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00025283

Cheers,
The_Black_Rose
