2019 KD55XG8096 won't connect to hidden wifi network

Hello Sony,

I recently purchased this brand new 55-inch KD-55 4K UHD TV (KD-55XG8096) and I love it but it won't connect to a hidden network... only the public ones. I have seen a lot of this issues on previous/older Sony models which were fixed with a FW update.

Could you have a look please.

Hi Sam,

Welcome to the Sony Online Community!

I do not believe that connecting to hidden Wi-Fi networks is supported by your TV. It is because you are not able to setup a wireless connection manually.

I will have to verify for you whether this is a supported option at all or not. I will update you as soon as I receive more information.

In the meantime can you share more details on what method are you using to setup your wireless connection with the hidden Wi-Fi network and at which step does the process fail?

Are you able to “unhide” the network and once connected hide it again?

Hello Both,

I unhide the SSID and it connects. Then when I hide. it just say SSID is out of range while it is not obviously.

i have the option to connect manually. So I would be surprised it doesn't connect to to hidden SSID specailly as you run android oreo.
