KD 55A1 HDMI banner fault?

Hi, have this TV and am really pleased with it! Just one annoying thing is the HDMI banner appearing at random? I have sky q connected to hdmi 2 at 1080p resolution. I understand that if you change channels to HD or with digital sound the banner will show. However, I can be watching the same channel and at random the banner will appear for a few seconds as if I had pressed the info button on remote? This really annoys me and does not happen on any other tv I have used?

Do I have a fault with my TV or is this a bug?

Yes, it happens the same with the PS4. I believe I worked around it a bit setting, in the Sound options, the Cinema mode and ClearAudio+ off. Doing so I had days without it appearing even in long sessions. But it is very random, so I wouldn't swear on it.

Ah, so you are new? You will learn that Sony hardly ever fixes any bugs.

You just payed a lot of money for some cheap MediaTek crap. But you are probably only using external devices which mitigate the problems a bit.

Yep happens with our KD55A1 as well. We have a Ziggo Horizon Box on HDMI1. I think it doesn't matter which HDMI. It just occurs sometimes. To remedy the issue for now I've disabled the info-bar in the menu-settings. Hopefully Sony could fix it with a firmware patch. It seems to be a old bug though. If I search on it, I find even TV's out of 2013 or earlier that had the same thing.

Sorry to say that this appears to be a problem on all 2017 Sony TVs. Android or not. In my case KD55XE9305 and Sky Q. The Info banner appears everytime I change channels on Sky Q from SD to HD and back. It also appears when I start playing a recording on Sky Q. The problem appears on all picture resolutions and HDMI inputs. At least with an Android TV we can switch off the Info banner. The TVs without Android cannot turn it off.

Alas, I have the same issue on my KD55A1 as well. Very annoying as it randomly comes on, even when an advert break when watching TV.

Newby here, but I can't seem to find menu option to turn off. Step by step guide please ?

Have you guys tried to go into Channel setup and turn off info banner? That completely turned off the banner for good for me. You should lose it also switching TV channel (I think), though. But one can always use the "i+" button.
